My name is Troy Pflugner and I’m the AED Specialist in Indiana; Louisville, Kentucky; and Cincinnati, Ohio. I've been with Cardiac Science – the only company with a dedicated team of highly trained, consultative local AED experts throughout the US – for two years now.

Cardiac Science AED training is the most thorough in the industry.

The most satisfying part of my job?
Knowing what I know, it's satisfying to know my loved ones are protected – in their schools, offices, and more. Of course, I keep a defibrillator in the trunk of my car as well.

Having been born and raised in the Michiana (Northern Indiana), it was especially gratifying to work with HeartReach Michiana, a not-for-profit organization in my hometown. Their two-fold focus: to educating the Michiana area about the risks of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), and to deploy AEDs to not-for-profit organizations throughout the Northern Indiana area.

In the past four years, HeartReach Michiana deployed nearly 200 AEDs – and they continue to do so at a rate of 40 Powerheart AEDs a year. 

I also brought publicly accessible defibrillation to the MSD Warren Township School System where my wife Courtney Pflugner is employed as a K-3 Grade Resource Teacher. Protecting my wife, her colleagues, and the children that she so dearly loves from sudden cardiac arrest is the most rewarding job I could have.

On a personal note...
Before I joined Cardiac Science I was a top performer in the safety/protective apparel industry. I guess protecting people is in my blood. I sold protective apparel clothing to protect against flash fire, molten metal, and other industrial hazards.
