It is my pleasure to inform you that Mortara Instrument, Inc. based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin has acquired the Diagnostic Cardiology product lines of Cardiac Science, comprising the Quinton® and Burdick® brands. The acquisition does not include Cardiac Science’s Automated External Defibrillator product lines.

We are enthusiastic about this strategic union and believe that the union of these highly complementary organizations, products and brands will create a unique and valuable market offering for you, our loyal customer.

For more than 30 years, Mortara has proudly served the non-invasive diagnostic cardiology market with innovative product solutions in Resting ECG, Holter, Cardiac Stress Testing and Patient Monitoring. Since its inception, Mortara has been, and remains, strongly committed to delivering nothing short of exceptional quality and customer service–one of the core reasons behind our “Built with Pride in Milwaukee” manufacturing philosophy. As such, you can expect that your Quinton and Burdick products will be maintained and supported at the same level, if not higher, than you received from Cardiac Science. Frequently Asked Questions:

Has Mortara acquired all of Cardiac Science? No, we have only acquired the Cardiac Science Burdick and Quinton brands of products. The AED products will remain a part of the Cardiac Science organization.

Will my sales rep and service representatives change? Most customers will not experience a change in sale and service coverage. Mortara will evaluate our sales and service coverage to ensure the best possible customer experience. If you are impacted by any changes, we will notify you.

Will my contact numbers for Customer Service or Tech Support change? Please continue to call the customer service and technical support numbers you are currently using. Numbers may change in the future. If that happens Mortara will provide an update when appropriate.

Will any prices change on supplies, accessories, or products? Mortara does not anticipate any price changes to occur as a result of this purchase.

Will I still be able to purchase Quinton and Burdick products and accessories? Cardiac Science and Mortara are cooperating and will continue to provide the Quinton and Burdick products and accessories. The product line may be expanded to include products and services from Mortara. If you have AED products, you will need to work with Cardiac Science and its distributors to acquire them. 

To which company should I issue orders? We have begun accepting orders for the diagnostic cardiology products using the Mortara system.  If you have new orders to submit, please update your purchasing system to reflect:  Mortara Instrument, 7865 N. 86th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53224.

Will Mortara honor existing terms and contracts? We will continue to honor all existing contracts and agreements. These terms, agreements and contracts will be evaluated as we integrate the Quinton and Burdick products into the Mortara organization. Any future changes will be communicated with appropriate notice.  

Will my Cardiac Science Accounts Payable contact information changes? To what new address? Invoices issued by Cardiac Science should be paid to Cardiac Science as you have been.  Invoices generated by Mortara will require payment as follows:

I am currently conducting business with both companies. When can I switch my Accounts Payable to Mortara for Cardiac Science payables? For Mortara orders, we encourage you to make the change as quickly as possible.  Please continue to conduct business with Cardiac Science for the AED product line.

Will any warranty terms change on the Quinton and Burdick products we buy in the future? All existing warranties will be honored. Future warranties will be reviewed as Mortara integrates the products into the combined entities. Any changes will be communicated with proper notice.

Will Mortara support the Quinton/Burdick products that are out of production with parts, depot services, field service, training and service contracts? If your product is still currently being supported by Cardiac Science, it will continue to be supported by the Mortara organization. The only exception to this will be if you have received an end of life letter from Cardiac Science. 

Will the same Cardiac Science service contract terms remain in effect for the term of the agreement?  Service contracts will continue to be honored and renewed as in the past.

Will telephone technical support still be available for the Quinton and Burdick products? Yes, technical support will continue to be provided. As a reminder our hours are Monday-Friday 7 am-5:30 pm Central time (US) and the Cardiac Science contact information is:

How does this impact Cardiac Science distributors? Cardiac Science will continue to work with our distributors under existing contracts. Mortara anticipates this change will add more exciting new products to our distributor’s product lines. Distributors should begin the process of updating their purchasing systems with the information above. We ask that you make a complete transition to Mortara for the diagnostic cardiology products by July 15, 2013, or sooner.

I have a Cardiac Science AED what is happening with the AED business? The AED business will remain with Cardiac Science. The Cardiac Science team will continue to provide sales, service and support to your Powerheart® AED.
