Why is this partnership important for you?
The Cardiac Science and Boy Scouts partnership makes automated external defibrillators (AEDs) available to Troops, Councils, and camps at a highly discounted rate.

365,000 people die in North America every year from sudden cardiac arrest and 7,000 of them are young. The worst part? It’s sudden – the first warning is often death.

James Hendrick was prepared. (Watch him tell his story on the right.) You need to be prepared too.

Defibrillation within three minutes lifts the chance of survival to 70 percent. Local emergency medical services typically can’t respond that quickly. The presence of an AED can make all the difference. The American Heart Association estimates improved early defibrillation efforts could save 40,000 more lives in the US alone.

Camps required to have AEDs
BSA is now requiring camps to have at least one AED on hand. Now is a great time to get prepared and save on your purchase.

BSA Health and Safety team leader Richard Bourlon wants to have AEDs in 100 percent of local councils’ camps and offices. He said, “The availability of AEDs and active promotion of CPR and AED education can help every Scout, Scouter, and family member be prepared to assist a victim of sudden cardiac arrest.”

We are making progress. 40 percent of our offices have AEDs and 83 percent of our camps do. We can do better.

Please share your contact information on the right to connect with your local AED specialist and to secure the special pricing available to Boy Scouts of America. We will follow up with you promptly.
