The American Heart Association just published whether cardiovascular monitoring should be recommended for children and adolescents receiving psychotropic drugs, and discusses the risk of sudden cardiac death in adolescents.

The report notes that ADHD is the most common neurobehavioral disorder of childhood, and that “ADHD may be more prevalent in children with heart disease than in the general pediatric population.” Link to the AHA document.
