As part of Cardiac Science’s commitment to increase the level of automated external defibrillator (AED) training in Canada, we’ve donated 20 Powerheart AED G3 trainers to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, Northwest Territories, & Nunavut. These devices are being used by Heart & Stroke Foundation trainers at training sites across the region, including the Northern Alberta Technology Institute in Edmonton and the Southern Alberta Technology Institute in Calgary.
“We’re pleased to work with the Heart & Stroke Foundation to increase public awareness of, and access, to AEDs,” said Ted Rioux, distribution manager for Cardiac Science. “The trainers are being deployed at the foundation’s largest training centers.”
The Powerheart AED G3 trainers feature wireless remote control devices that allow instructors to vary rescue conditions or pause a rescue, mid-scenario, to emphasize an important point. The devices can be set by the instructor to mimic either automatic or semi-automatic AED operation.
