HeartReach Michiana has distributed 42 Powerheart automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to schools, churches, first responders, and community service groups in Northern Indiana.
The distribution of Powerheart AED G3s was conducted in October, and WSBT TV was on hand to report it:
HeartReach Michiana, founded in 2004, has been distributing AEDs in Michigan and Indiana for the past five years. Founder Dr. Walter Halloran says their waiting list currently has about 150 devices requested by more than 60 organizations.
The organization raises funds through an annual golfing event and auction. An educational workshop, conducted on the morning of the event, offers nurses and physicians in the community continuing education credits.
