Transparency is very important at the “new” Cardiac Science under President and Chief Executive Officer Dave Marver. Here Dave shares how he’s spending his time and what’s on task for the week ahead.
It has been a very busy several weeks since my appointment as CEO.
Running the Business: My primary focus is on strengthening our manufacturing and quality systems, improving our IT infrastructure, and adding new marketing systems and capabilities.
I’m also scrutinizing our talent to assure we have the right people on board to help us grow. Much of this work should be complete by the end of 2009, allowing us to enter 2010 with a stronger foundation.
Growing the Business: A good deal of my time is spent growing the business, with intense focus on leveraging our distribution, brands, and installed base by adding new technologies to our portfolio.
Our activity level in pursuit of alliances, distribution agreements, and acquisitions is extremely high and will result in a number of important announcements in the second half of 2009, leading to renewed growth in 2010 and beyond.
This week, our CFO Mike Matysik and I will make a presentation in New York at the Needham Biotechnology & Medical Technology Conference.
While in NYC, we’ll be meeting with analysts and investors, introducing them to the “new”’ Cardiac Science and sharing our enthusiasm for our growth prospects. There is no question 2009 will be a challenging year, a transition year, but thereafter our growth initiatives should spark a resurgence that promises to be quite meaningful.
