At 3:03 a.m. on a spring day, a Powerheart® AED in Melbourne, Australia passed its daily self-test. Later that day, Crossfit121 staff members used that AED to deliver a shock that restarted Samantha Jobe’s heart after she collapsed while warming-up. Her life was saved while her husband Damien and eight-week-old daughter Makayla looked on.

At 3:03 a.m. on July 17, a Powerheart® AED at Homestead High School in Wisconsin passed its daily self-test. Later that day, Athletic Trainer April Gotzler used that same AED to deliver a shock that restarted a 17-year-old basketball player’s heart who had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. April’s quick actions and a self-tested AED helped save a young man’s life.

The AED program helps protect the park’s five million people every year. The result? While the sudden cardiac arrest survival rate in the U.S. is 10.6%, Stone Mountain Park has a survival rate of 70 percent.

At 3:03 a.m. on a March day, a Powerheart AED at Hillingdon Athletic Club in Ruislip, United Kingdom successfully passed a daily self-test. Later that day, that same AED helped save Kevin Twomey’s life after he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while running. A team of four rescuers performed CPR and applied a Powerheart AED. Within minutes it delivered a life-saving shock.

At 3:03 a.m. on Dec. 2, a Powerheart® AED used by Brookhaven Police Department in Georgia passed its daily self-test. Later that day, Officer Olen Boughner, Officer Patrick DiCicco, and Corporal Matthew Murray attached a Powerheart AED to a female sudden cardiac arrest victim. The AED detected a shockable rhythm and administered two shocks, reviving the woman before paramedics arrived.
